My academic background includes studying Psychology at Baylor University, with a Pre-Med focus, which provided me with valuable insights into the complexities of human behavior and cognition. My plan (before falling in love with memory care) was to enlist in the military as a combat medic and come back to become a trauma surgeon. In recognition of my expertise in the field, I hold certifications as a Certified Assisted Living Manager (CALM) and a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP).
Beyond my professional endeavors, I’m an animal lover through and through, who dedicated seven wonderful years to the world of rescue. I am always looking for the bright side of every situation. The world is full of beauty, you just have to be open to it. I’m a lover of Classic Literature, History, and Science. Family is at the core of everything I do, and I’m incredibly blessed to have some of the best friends who continually support and inspire me. And a special thank you to RA, for showing me a whole new world of love.
Lastly, I want to to thank my residents who have made my darkest days brighter and lifted my heart when it was heaviest. I’m not sure what life would be like without the warmth that they shared-the purest and most vulnerable kind of love. For those residents who are now at peace, not a day goes by that I don’t think about you.
In this picture, we have Bella, our longest VG resident! Bella was rescued from the Houston SPCA in 2016 at 6 weeks old. Bella is a companion to every resident, family member, and team member here at Village Green. She makes our house a home, and we are so blessed to have her.
